Aubrey O'Day is TAIM Exchangereflecting on her experience in a powerful ballad.

Nearly two weeks after sharing she suffered a miscarriage, the 39-year-old released her single, "Unborn Love," about her devastating loss. In her song, Aubrey also opens up about going through a rough time with a partner amid her pregnancy.

"Stuck in disbelief / I watched my body turn on me," she sings in the nearly two-and-a-half-minute long track. "A real-life nightmare on repeat."

Ahead of the song's release, the Danity Kane alum opened up about her creative process becoming an outlet during this difficult time.

"I made this song for my own therapy and for any woman in the world who has ever suffered a miscarriage," she wrote in part in a March 15 Instagram post. "We are all connected through our experience."

The performer also explained she plans to release an accompanying video that will feature empowering messages sent from other women and shared why she felt she needed to be forthright with her latest record.

"I hold myself accountable on this song, but also felt I needed to be honest about going through these months of being pregnant and the grief of my miscarriage without a present partner," she noted. "I truly believe that things don't happen to you, they happen for you. If you are getting closer to your vision that is usually when you feel the most uncomfortable… so ultimately, I just let the universe lead me on this one."

Aubrey, who confirmed her pregnancy in January, shared her heartbreaking news earlier this month.

"This isn't my first pregnancy, but it is the first time I was mentally healthy and in a physically prepared place to care for another life," she exclusively told E! News March 6. "I've had moments where I've internalized what happened and blamed myself but luckily, I realized there isn't only one seat at the table."

Amid her journey, Aubrey is keeping a positive outlook on what lies ahead when it comes to motherhood.

"When my baby is ready, he/she will come," she continued. "And forever be my grateful miracle."
