For years, Americans have tuned in to watch Griswold's child-like enthusiasm for the holiday constantly get derailed.

National Lampoon's "Christmas Vacation" has aired on AMC throughout December, and will be shown regularly with other holiday classics including "Elf" and "Four Christmases" as part of AMC's Best Christmas Marathon running Dec. 23-25. It will also be aired on AMC Dec. 26 for the Holiday Hangover marathon.

"Christmas Vacation" is also airing on IFC Friday, Dec. 22 at 8:15 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.
